What Exactly are the causes of a Dry Scalp, Find out!

The name dry scalp derived from the way it actually behaves. It completely removes the required moisture content from the scalp making it dry which causes severe hair loss and dandruff which comes out as white flakes. There are many factors that can cause the dry scalp problems.

Many people suffer from problems with dry scalp and the first issue is that they usually spend too much time washing their hair with shampoo's and leaving their hair wet. Frequent use of shampoo is not recommended as it can cause a lack of natural oils on your scalp and in your hair. Well, this is a wrong way of treating thedry scalp cause. You are still unaware of the exact reason why the dryness has occurred. Without knowing the reason it is not advisable to start your own treatment as this can cause much more problems to the already existing dry scalp problem. Dry scalp causes are still unknown and even the weather plays an important role. If you have been washing your hair frequently the already dry scalp becomes much more dry as the shampoos which contain harsh chemicals removes small amount of moisture content from the scalp which is generated by the body. This moisture actually protects the hair and scalp by forming a protective layer on them.

The actual dry scalp causes  the hair to lose its natural luster and shine. The oil glands or the sebaceous gland produces the required oil to the hair strands which keeps the hair moisturized protecting it from the harsh sun rays and the varied weather conditions. When these oil glands do not perform their role, that is when they are under required production of oil, the hair strands do not receive the required amount of oil and they lose all the strength creating hair loss.

Though there are many conditions that have been observed for detecting the exact reason for dry scalp cause, one of the most common thing that has been noted is that, when the atmosphere is cool, i.e. during winter season or when you are exposed to air conditioners for a long time, the oil glands that produce the required moisture content are blocked by these elements and scalp slowly turns dry.

Apart from the environmental effects, the food intake and the life style also causes dry scalp.Dry scalp causes can be rectified easily when the exact reason is known for the problem. If you are experiencing a fall in the production of fatty acids, your scalp is prone to become excessively dry. If your body does not get what it exactly requires you are sure to be affected with a dry scalp. This generally occurs when there is sudden shift in the life style and the food habits. If you have altered your diet plans and have started to eat less, the body does not meet the requirements and the fatty acids which are necessary are not available for the body. As the production is lowered, the oil glands responsible for secreting oil, will not perform their duty or the process becomes too slow causing scalp to dry out.
