Many people are

treatments are

in your kitchen shelf. Though there are many factors that
cause the scalp to become dry, the common areas
which have the most significant effect are the
environmental changes and the food habits. The scalp is
covered by a layer of skin, which people often tend to
forget as the hair is typically covering this layer of
skin. As we protect out body completely with
moisturizers, the scalp also requires the same treatment.
Yes, moisturizers can protect the scalp from damage
caused by pollution, sunrays and the dust particles in
the air.
Dry scalp treatments
are of many and each depends on the reason behind the
occurrence of the dry scalp. It is very important to know the
reason behind the dry scalp. If you can note the changes and
the particular effects that is causing the dryness, you can go
for a treatment that can actually wipe out both the dryness as
well as the main reason. Dry scalp treatments are divided
into mainly two areas – massage and moisturizer. These two
areas cater to the improvement of hair growth, blood
circulation, a good relief from tensions and improvement in the
oil gland secretion.
Oil glands produce
naturally the required moisture content that is required to
help secure the shine and luster in the hair. The oil
that is produced by these oil glands covers the complete scalp
providing a protection layer preventing any damage from the
pollution and weather conditions which helps in maintaining a
healthy scalp as well as healthy hair. If the production of oil
from the oil glands is hampered or slowed by environmental
factors, the scalp generally turns dry, damaging the hair roots
which results in a complete hair loss and also there are
possibilities of growth for fungus. When this fungus starts to
grow on your scalp, you can observe white flakes coming out
from your hair each time you comb your hair.
Dry scalp treatment
should be aimed at eliminating first the fungus to stop the
white flakes. Once this has been countered, the next step is to
provide moisture content to both the hair and the scalp till
the oil glands are restored back to their original production
rate. To restore the oil glands back to their usual production
rates, you will have to follow a proper diet that is rich in
proteins, carbohydrates and vitamins. Fatty acids play main
role in production of the oil from the oil glands. Hence, a
properly planned diet can also improve overcome the dry scalp
problems.
After each wash,
spare sometime to massage your head with your fingers without
applying much pressure on your scalp. This will help improve
the blood circulation and also improves the oil glands
secretion. Dry scalp
treatment can
also be performed with few home remedies. You can start
using the mixture of reserved water from the oat meal and
the rose water or the mixture of olive oil and crushed
powder from aspirin tablets. Massage the mixtures onto
the scalp for about five minutes and leave on the mixture
for about half hour. You can then perform a head wash
with cold water.
